Overview
Placeholder text. A residential tower with thin, flat slabs to keep the overall building height down.
The challenge
Drift and occupant comfort under wind governed the core design. Slab openings for services interrupted the tendon layouts.
Approach
- Built and ran the ETABS model for lateral design
- Laid out tendon profiles around the mechanical penetrations
- Designed the core wall coupling beams
Outcome
200 mm flat plates throughout, which saved one full storey of height compared to a beam-and-slab scheme.
